Portland Backpack's Mission:

Serving children who are at risk of hunger by providing food sacks for weekend days when food scarcity is higher. We believe that engaging the community in our efforts creates a greater impact that reaches beyond reducing hunger.

Each shelf-stable food sack contains two breakfast items, two protein-rich main courses, two fruits, two snacks, and a handcrafted care card created by a community volunteer with a message of encouragement and support. Portland Backpack serves over 1300 kids per week, and each food sack costs $7.50 on average.  Your support helps us put food directly into the hands of the kids who need it.
